I have been on a slight hiatus lately from painting and blogging as I’ve been in kind of a rut and just needed a change of pace. I still kept coming to my painting station in order to work on a couple of commissions here and there but overall I was focusing on other things throughout February. As March approached I started getting back into the swing of things; I cleaned up my painting area, finished a commission and picked up some new supplies. But as I looked at my blog I felt that it too needed a bit of a change.
So to keep this story short I set out to do something I have been wanting to do for quite a while now, and that was to have a logo of my very own. Now if you’re reading this then you have already seen it as it takes up the whole page when the site loads but just in case here it is again.

This wonderful piece of art that now serves as my logo was brought to life by Marwani Islami who you can check out on Instagram at @aiyeahhs. All I had was a general idea and a lot of reference pictures and reference art and the man was able to take all that and synthesize exactly what I wanted. But in order to have the site properly display my new logo I went ahead and changed the theme/format because the what’s the point of commissioning an amazing new logo if I can’t shove it in people’s faces as soo as they load in?
One other small change is that the URL now longer has WordPress in it. One day I got an email from WordPress with one of their coupon codes for like 50% off and I figured I would treat myself for my birthday. So now I have a legit site address with hosting and everything.
As for the blog itself and the future, I plan on expanding on the type of content that’s here. I am not the fastest painter nor do I have a lot of time to devote to painting. Thus, I figured I would leverage my knowledge of the hobby as well as the shear assortment of tools and models to start writing tutorials and reviews. Will I be more consistent with my uploads? I doubt it. But this does mean I will post more frequently because I now have other things to write about and fall back on when my current projects are taking a bit too long.
With that being said I am excited to get back into painting and blogging and seeing what gonna happen next!
Till next time my wayward compadres.
